A Really Good Friday

I've been itching to go to Subic Beach off of Matnog, Sorsogon and the week-long holiday seemed like the perfect timing. Although it was a half-baked plan with the cousins, I kind of banked on it, until I found out the family had other plans.

I was dead-set on going. I rarely set my sight on things, but when I want something, I (do everything to) get it. The Universe helps me out, of course -- this time, in the form of my cousin Kai and her adventurous ways + Google.

There were a few curve balls along the way --  pulled over for obstruction of traffic (gotta love jeepney drivers), getting stranded in Matnog, staying overnight in a seedy motel -- but it was worth it.

Meeting New People
I guess one is never too old to make new friends. It's so nice to know that there are so many like- minded people out there, people you don't need to adjust to. Organic friendships are my favourite.
Oh and another favourite -- meeting your celebrity crushes hahaha

Going to a Bazillion Shows
Honestly, I think is is where most of my money went. I don't know how many I went to exactly but I guess it's a lot because it made a little dent on my wallet haha. I need to pick my concerts and not just let my Id be the boss of me.

Island-hopping
I beat 2011's number by two islands. I love living in the Philippines. So many beaches and secret coves and I love that I have people in my life who are not mukhang Boracay. Don't get me wrong, Boracay is great but there are so many other islands to visit.

Whiny and Exhausted

The Fray was AMAZING!

I mean, they still are -- and will most likely forever be haha!

The house wasn't packed but you know what? It only gave Isaac more room to run around, high-five people and climb up to the nosebleed sections of the house hahaha

My favourite moment of the night though was when Joe took the mic and sang Ungodly Hour.
The thing is, I was hoping he would do Rainy Zurich but dear God, Ungodly Hour was out of this world unreal! I just stood there, listening.
Just listening.
Jacq and I were talking about how some artists draw their songs from their hearts or their egos but Joe? From the soul really.

This concert blindsided me. I'm still reeling.

And to think I almost missed it.

Yesterday found me shooting arrows ...

... with my friend Iza. She took a maggot to her head and decided archery was something we should try.
I took a maggot to mine and agreed.

A little over an hour, and a hematoma after we both decided it' something we'd like to pursue.

Of course, we can do away with the bruising.

The Script Science and Faith Tour - Manila

Prior to the concert, I spent an all-nighter with a few friends finishing a photobook (but that's for another blog entry). So running on empty (read: 36 hours up, fueled only by coffee, cigarettes, chips and chocolate cake) I decided that it would be best if I chug about half a liter of rum and pineapple juice :p

 The result? Drunk tweets and semi decent pictures :D

Dong Bei Fried Dumpling

I'm not a morning person, and I believe Sundays should be spent at home just lounging but I certainly didn't mind getting up at 7am to go on the Big Binondo Food Wok with my friend, Ice.

Skip sleep for food? Yes, I would.

Calatagan

Went to Batangas with the team after cancelling Galera because of the malabo weather.


The whole day was pretty crazy since we were only staying for a night. We got there just in time for lunch and I did fast-break baking right here:

had to do some errands though so we went back to town to buy booze and the nakakalokang gwyneth's lechon manok. sarap ng suka. ininom ko lang naman :p


anyhoo, driving back to the resort, nag mukha kaming nasa 30 days of night, hurrying back to catch the sunset. you know, for ehehe picture-picture.

we were racing to the lighthouse kasi feel namin na maganda ang sunset from there but the lighthouse was gated and it was closed so boo! bye sunset pics :(

but guess what i saw to my right:

there's a clearing by the lighthouse so we hopped into the car to take better pictures. presenting, the sunset in a secret cove in calatagan:

now this was totally serendipitous. the guys left at the resort said there was no sunset. instead they saw this:

a tornado. ayus. but you know what, i'm thinking that's my sundo. on may 9, the mayor of blue springs declared the day to be david cook day and kansas joined as well.


obviously, toto and i never made it to kansas :p


i clicked my heels together three times too soon. plus, i wasn't wearing my ruby red slippers. *raises clenched fists to heaven* curses! white flipflops boo!


anyway, back to the pretty sunset ... so beautiful no? and without photoshop help too. i'm not recommending that you try to go to the lighthouse and the clearing leading to the cliff where we caught mother nature's gift. we put a whole new meaning to braving the elements. the effing clearing was blairwitch scary ... but that's another blog entry.
